Rockman EXE (2002) Singapore-English Dubbed; Episodes 28 – 56 (END)

TADA-ima~

I’m sure everyone knows about Mega Man (or Rockman as it is known in Japan) – it’s a series of highly-acclaimed 2D platformer video games by Capcom. It made its debut on the Nintendo Entertainment System/Famicom around 1987, and has been growing ever since with six games on that platform, another five on newer consoles and a whole lot of spin-offs including Mega Man X, Mega Man Battle Network and Mega Man NT Warrior.

The last of which (originally named Rockman EXE), spawning an anime series, had two dubs: one done in North America consisting of edits and cuts, and one in Singapore which was uncut and received a home video release in that region and Malaysia (alongside a Chinese dub) by PMP Emtertainment. Here’s the series’ description straight from the horse’s…well, VCD’s mouth.

Year 200X. Following the rapid progress of information technology, the human race has entered in the network age. Everyone now possesses a portable terminal called a “PET” within which a “NetNavi” (Net. Navigator) program with characteristics similar to the owner is inserted. Netto, who lives in Den City’s ACDC town, was promised by his father that when he became a 5th grader he
would receive an original NetNavi made by his father. That NetNavi is RockMan. Thus, the story follows them as they are unwittingly swept into the world of the “WWW” (World Three), a mysterious organization which threatens the peace of civil society. Rockman has unknown powers and Netta has natural virus busting abilities. The two will solidify their friendship and expose the darkness hidden in the network.
